Municipal Judge

The current municipal judge is Cody Beauchamp. The municipal judge holds a two-year elected position. Judge Beauchamp’s current term ends May 2023.

The municipal judge has jurisdiction to hear all cases involving Class C misdemeanors that occur in the territorial limits of the city, as well as all city ordinance violations. The municipal judge is also a magistrate for the State of Texas, meaning the judge can issue arrest or search warrants, set bail for persons under arrest, and issue protective orders.

The Corsicana Home Rule Charter requires that the municipal judge be an attorney licensed to practice law.
