Garbage & Recycling Service

Republic Services is the City’s contracted collector of garbage and recyclables. For service related questions or concerns, please contact Republic Services at 903-874-8717. For billing related questions or concerns, you may email the Utility Billing Office, or call 903-654-4825.

As a standard, a 95-gallon poly cart method is used for garbage pick up. The poly cart must be placed at the curb by 6:30 a.m. on your designated trash day and must be removed from the curb no later than 10 p.m. on the day of collection. All solid waste must be bagged or contained inside the poly cart.

Recycling Service

Garbage will be picked up once per week and recycling will be picked up once per month. Recycling carts are available on an “as requested” basis for a fee of $14.68 per month. Additional recycling carts can be requested at a rate of $5.26 per month. Please note, recycling will be picked up on the fourth Wednesday of the month. 

Poly carts should be placed near the curb at least 3 feet from any object including other poly carts, water meters, gas meters, parked cars, mail boxes, trees, power poles, fences, etc.

Bulk Item Pick Up

Bulk item pick up is scheduled on a call-in basis. To schedule a Bulk Item pick up, please contact Republic Services at 903-874-8717. Scheduled bulk items pick ups will be on Wednesday of each week. Bulk items should be at the curb no earlier than 5 p.m. the evening before the scheduled pick up.

Brush Pickup Service

Republic Services will run a route to pick up leaves and bundled brush every Wednesday. Tree trimmings must be cut and bundled in 4-foot sections. A “bundle” is defined as shrub and brush trimmings securely tied together forming an easily handled package, not exceeding 4 feet in length or 35 pounds.
