Pet Adoptions
Adoption Procedures
Our adoption fee is $55 for dogs, puppies, cats, and kittens. This includes the first set of basic shots, de-worming, canine heart worm testing or feline heartworm / FeLV / AIDS testing if six months or older. We have you fill out an adoption application, and if approved we then have you fill out a sterilization agreement. This is basically a contract saying that you will have the animal spayed or neutered within 30 days if it is an adult or by the time the puppy or kitten is 6 months of age. (When the animal is sterilized we ask that you send a copy of the receipt or a letter from the veterinarian stating that the procedure was completed, and mail it to our address.)
If you currently have pets, we must see proof of current rabies vaccine on those animals, and if you rent your home we require permission from a landlord. Adopters must be 18 years of age or older. It is always a good idea to call first, if traveling from a distance, to be sure that the animal is still available. All animals are first come, first serve. If you call as you are leaving, we will place a hold on the animal you are interested in, with an approved application, so that it is assured it will be here for you to view.
