Assistant Chief McGaha oversees the day to day operations of the department and thesupervision of the Criminal Investigations Division and the Records Division. He assists the Chief of Police with variousprojects and leads the Department in the absence of the Chief. Assistant ChiefMcGaha is also responsible for conducting Internal Affairs investigations andaddressing citizen complaints.
Responsibilities
The Records Unit of the Corsicana Police Department is primarily responsible for editing the police reports and maintaining the arrest files; but they also serve the public in a variety of other ways. Records is responsible for dispensing, burglar alarm permits, solicitors permits, and carnival permits. They also are responsible for accident reports, criminal histories / background checks, and register citizens for fingerprinting.
Records Requests
To request public records, fill out a Request for Disclosure of Police Records Form (PDF) and submit it to the department in person or by fax. In order to better assist with requests for information, please be specific as to the information requested as it pertains to addresses, complete names of persons, and dates of occurrence, as well as the type of information requested, such as arrest report, accident report, police report of investigation / incident, photograph, etc.
In accordance with Chapter 552 of the Texas Government Code, the police department has 10 business days to respond to requests for records. However, every effort will be made to expedite the process. Please contact any of the Records Unit staff for assistance:
