The Public Works Department role is keeping the city’s infrastructure safe, functional, and operational it provides many services for the Corsicana community. Whether the request is small or a major emergency, city crews are ready to serve residents.
Core Operations
·Street & Road Maintenance: Paving, repair, street sweeping, pothole filling, sign repair and traffic lights.
·Storm Drainage: Clearing and maintaining storm drains.
·Water and Sewer Utility Infrastructure: Repairing and replacing water lines and sewer systems. Tapping fee investigation for new construction and installation.
·Brush & Tree Debris Pickup: Coordinate collection through republic service for yard waste and fallen limbs. Tree trimming low hanging limbs over the streets. Mow street right away. Schedule spot trailers.
·Special Facilities & Services: Maintenance of public cemeteries, airport grounds, and organizing surplus equipment auctions.
·Warehouse and Maintenance Facilities: Fuel, maintenance supplies, and warehousing.
Public Works also works closely with the planning and designing infrastructure projects—such as street construction, traffic control systems, storm drainage, and utility facilities. We oversee capital improvements, ensure compliance with zoning, and provide technical support.
